Martin Luther King Jr.’s Enduring Legacy – 55 Years Later

To commemorate the 55th Anniversary of the assassination of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and the 60th Anniversary of his “I Have a Dream” speech, the State of CT MLK Jr Holiday Commission ( MLKJHC) invites you to attend a memorial service Tuesday April 4th at 2:45 at the SFL.

This service will honor his words, mission and convictions; there will be live music, presentations and a reading excerpt from the “I Have a Dream” speech.  State and local officials and community leaders have been invited to reflect on the enduring legacy of Dr. King’s words and the overall impact the civil rights movement has had on our daily lives.

If you can, join us prior to the event at 2:30 for a Memorial Walk to the SFL, starting at the commuter lot off of Iron Horse Blvd (behind Bank of America).

For further information on this event, please call Donna E. Campbell, MLKJHC Chair at 860-218-4420.
