Capital Campaign

Since 1874 significant events have unfolded in and around Simsbury Center, with the Free Library consistently at the heart of it all. Throughout the years, the Library has welcomed townspeople, trustees, librarians, students, and patrons who have sought our services for genealogical and historical research, reading room facilities, art appreciation, lectures, and numerous social, educational and club activities. In the spirit of cherished memories spanning generations and inspired by the newfound activism of students and patrons, we have initiated a capital campaign as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of our founding. The goal of the campaign is to raise funds for the badly needed renovation and updating of our iconic 1890 building (the “Gracious Yellow Lady”) which has served us well over so many decades. We extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us in this campaign of historical preservation and rediscovery. Through our collective effort we will connect with our roots and safeguard our future.
