The Simsbury Free Library’s collection of Late19th to Early 20th Century Pamphlets consists of thirty-two pamphlets covering a variety of subjects published between 1854 – 1930. Historically, pamphlets were print forms of speeches, orations, debates, sermons, treatises, tracts, narratives, poems, songs, memoir, or legal notices. They were a cost effective and important means of communicating a diverse set of attitudes and opinions of various segments of society and an alternative to books, newspapers, and periodicals.
