A collection of eight letters to Orpha Amanda Eno Vail (1819 – 1891), daughter of Jonathan Eno and Orpha Adams Eno and wife of Alfred Lewis Vail, of Morristown, NJ. Alfred Vail and Orpha had no children together. Alfred Vail was the co-inventor of Morse Code and after his death in 1859 Orpha dedicated her time to restoring the credit due him for his part in developing Morse Code.
