  • The International Genealogical Index, a family history database compiled by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, lists several hundred million names of deceased persons from throughout the world. Data in the IGI came from two sources: vital and church records from the early 1500s to 1885 and from personal family trees submitted to LDS Church.
